Obituary of Michael G. Dalton
Dalton, Michael “Mike”
78, of Little Ferry, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 26th 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Deborah (Haufe), his daughter Alicia and her husband Philip Reilly, his grandchildren Felicia Spinella and her partner Steven, Samantha (Spinella) and her husband John O’Neil, Evan Latrella and his partner Grace, Jeremy Latrella, Nicholas Forde, Kendall Forde and his great granddaughter Stella Ann.
He is also survived by his brother Charles (Chick) Dalton, his son in law John A. Forde, his brother in law Harold James Haufe and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Mike was predeceased by his precious daughter Shannon (Dalton) Forde, his parents Ray and Josephine, his siblings Raymond, Joseph and Patricia, his in laws Harold and Kathryn Haufe and brother in law Richard Haufe.
Mike grew up in West New York and Ridgefield Park. He was a graduate of Ridgefield Park High School Class of 1964.
He was then drafted by the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War.
Mike was employed for almost 40 years at the United States Post Office and before that he worked at Owens Illinois in North Bergen.
He was a member of American Legion and VFW both in Little Ferry.
Mike was a softball coach first for the LF/SH Senior Girls league then for more than 2 decades for the Grasshopper Women’s team in Ridgefield Park Woman’s Rec league.
Mike was a devoted husband, dad, Pop, brother, uncle and friend. He was also a dedicated New York Mets fan and Los Angeles Rams fan.
He will be tremendously missed and forever loved.
Funeral From Vohees Ingwersen Funeral Home on Friday at 9:30am a Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Margaret of Cortona RC Church, Little Ferry. Visitation Thursday 4-8pm. Cremation will be private.
