Dear Deb & Family, We were friends since high school. Mike started a softball team that kept the gang together after we returned from service. We played almost 20 years, great times we had. He will missed by everyone who knew him. He always had a smile and a funny comment when we met. Dear Mike RIP brother, I have an empty feeling in my heart, knowing I will never see you again.

I've known Mike for over 50 years. I was never in his company without having a laugh or a good time. We coached LF/SH senior girls together along with John Menzel. Though the girls had different skill levels, he brought out the best in each and every one. He was very good at what he did. It was fun to watch these 14-16 year group of misfits gel into a championship team. I also played with him on the Pirates. I wasn't that good, but he always threw in the game. The fun was after the game when we'd all go out for beers. The 333Club or the Pleasure Lounge. What a great time. You really had to be there. We also shared several Marine Cops birthdays. most of them a blur. One that stands out was we did a Little Ferry bar crawl. Hit every bar in town; some twice. Ended up marching up Merhof Rd. calling cadence. Christ, what a night. I am going to miss him dearly and will think of him often. Semper Fi Marine. No more nightmares. Rest in peace. He was my friend. Charlie

Coach!!!! Mr. Dalton was one of my favorite softball coaches when I played for Unico in the Sr league. He'd always make me smile, even when I didn't want to! I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. He was definitely one of a kind! My deepest sympathies to the Dalton family.

Ed has many memories hanging with Mike during their HS days.
I first knew of Mike on College Place when he was with Bobby Carlson across from my house. And of course the bowling alley and Tony's Pizza.
I will be missing his remarks on my FB posts. He always looked for the funny side.

Michael and I were childhood friends living right next-door to each other on Van Buren Pl. in West New York. We played stick ball, marbles, etc.. We lost track of each other during our teen years and reconnected a number of years ago on Facebook. I feel like I got to know Michael as an adult, when he lost his daughter. And now I’m getting to know him even better through the beautiful tributes that are coming through. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family. Sincerely Doris, Ackerman, Pizzuto, and Champ.
