Obituary of Carl J Vercelli

Carl J. Vercelli, aka Butch, age 83, lifelong resident of Ridgefield Park, happily spent his retirement years on Beaver Lake in Damascus, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2023. 

Carl was Head of Transportation for the Hackensack Water Company (now Veolia) and retired from the Company after 40 years.  He was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis RC Church and was a devoted Ridgefield Park resident.  He proudly served the United States Marine Corps and served in Beruit in 1958.  Everyone knew Carl. He coached midget football for over 20 years and is an honored RP Hall of Famer.  The only thing Carl loved more than RP, was God, Family and Country.  His favorite saying, which was all over Facebook, was “love my family”.

Beloved husband for 60+ years to Lynnda (nee Heal).  Devoted father to Lisa Melley, Karen Meaney and her husband Bill, Susan Vercelli, James Vercelli and his wife Allison, Thomas Vercelli and his wife Stacy and Anthony Vercelli and his wife Amy.  Loving grandfather to 18 wonderful grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to David Vercelli. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 begining at 3 P.M. and concluding at 8 P.M.  Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Francis R.C. Church.  Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus
