Tom was unique. When I first met him, he was skeptical about me, because I was, as he said, the pinheaded college guy, but after I passed muster, we became good friends. My favorite memory of many was walking out of the municipal building and having the school crossing guard yell, “How the hell are you, Your Honor.” I knew it was Tom before I was close enough to tell who it was. Rank and ceremony never impressed or fazed him. We need more like him. He will be missed. Terry Perna
