I'm sorry for your loss, my condolences to the family. When I moved into the building in 2006 I met Al {Mike} that's what he told me to call him, he was the super at that time so I asked him to change my light bulb in my bathroom & he did. He then told me that was just a name not a job like other buildings. I said Oh my I'm sorry I had no idea & since then we where friends. Mike was a wonderful person & always had a smile on his face & always said hello & asked how I was. When he started to have medical problems, I would see him & offer my help and with a smile on his face he would say it's ok I have it, & if I haven't seen him in a while I would ask our Neighbors if they have seen him because I would be concerned. Mike will be Missed tremendously around here, but he is now with his wife & the angels ♡

Al was an amazing human being. He taught in the classroom above me my first year of teaching at SDA. When I would walk up the stairs, usually looking despondent, he would look at me and say, "they try my patience too Linda, and I've been teaching longer than you've been alive." Had it not been for those words of encouragement, I probably would not have made it through that first year. For that and a whole host of other reasons , I will miss him greatly. He was a man of faith, and fun and wisdom. I am a better person for having known him. God Bless you on your journey. Cheers!

I knew Mike from Luigui's. For the the past 10 years we've had an ongoing debate on every and any subject that would come up. I'm really going to miss our debates, I really looked forward to them as very often he helped my knowledge evolve and help change my perspectives. So many of us would look to his insights and views and helped make our life's just a little better.

My downstairs neighbor since the day I moved in nearly 24 years ago, Mike was as much a part of my 'home' as my actual apartment. It's only been 2 days, but already my home just doesn't feel right anymore. As we said to each other a number of times over the years, we did pretty good as upstairs/downstairs neighbors. I just can't imagine our building without you (the last original tenant). We've missed Barbara since she left us years ago, and now we're going to miss you even more.
Rest in peace, my friend.

Al was quite simply a lovely man in every way. I had the pleasure to teach with him at Saint Dominic Academy for many years. He was always positive, pleasant, patient and loving. He was also an inspirational man of great faith. He was calm and kind and giving. I am a better person for having known him.
