It is with great sadness that I just now learned of “Mr. Agnew’s passing. He was my cross country coach from 1968 through 1971 as well as PE teacher. He was as kind and caring a teacher as they come. I never saw him again after graduation but did think of him from time to time and the lessons of sportsmanship he taught me are still with me today. My sincerest condolences to his family. Please know that he made a difference in my life!

Thank you for all of your kind words and positive memories. We were glad that he could live here in Virginia for what would be his final year. However, we enjoyed the opportunity to treat him to home made ice cream and fresh Virginia apple pies! Our family is fortunate that he wS able to live a long life with all of us. God bless.
Resting in Christ

For the Agnew family,
Sorry to say that many of the former Fort Lee High School graduates are only finding out about the passing of Mr Agnew more than a year ago. Many of us are on facebook and we chat online in a room called I Grew Up In Fort Lee. Many, many graduates who studied under Mr Agnew, or had him as a coach in several sports are writing about memories of him. If you or someone you know is on facebook please come in and read the notations. I'm sure you will enjoy and appreciate the posts.
Hopefully the funeral home will pass this on to you.
God Bless you,
Pamela (Gorman) Tagliareni

I graduated from DMHS with Jim. So sorry to hear of his passing. We always had a friendly relationship, even though I have lived in the South since 1953 and only got
to renew our friendship at the few class reunions in NJ that I was able to attend. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was always a very nice and caring person.
