Obituary of Rocco Maggio
Rocco Maggio, aged 78, of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2024. A man of profound strength, unwavering devotion, and boundless love, has left behind a legacy etched in the hearts of all who knew him. Born in Englewood, NJ to the late Theresa (nee Cavaliere) and the late John Maggio, Rocco lived a life defined by service, dedication, and passion. He was the devoted husband to Clare (nee Castellane), a loving father to Gina Lannen and her husband Jeffery, and Joseph Maggio, and an adoring grandfather to Mia and Angelina. He is predeceased by his endeared siblings Louise Yocovelli, Josephine Mann, Lily Woodruff, Joseph Maggio, and John Maggio. A proud Vietnam War veteran, Rocco brought the same determination to his work as a General Contractor and Owner at Van-Roc Construction, where his hands helped build more than structures - - they built dreams. He was a huge fan of the New York Giants, had a deep love for music, enjoyed getting lost roaming the vast landscapes of western movies, and was a member of the Fort Lee VFW. But above all, his greatest joy came from the love of his family, who will forever cherish his wisdom, humor, and unshakeable support. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever resonate in the lives he touched.
A wake service in Rocco’s honor will be held on Friday, December 13th, beginning at 4 PM and concluding with a Catholic Blessing officiated by Father Scott Attansio at 8 PM. Cremation will be private.
