Obituary of Jane C Lowe
Jane C. Lowe (née Glynn), age 66, of Teaneck (formerly of Ridgefield Park), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 21, 2024. Born in Stuttgart, Germany, she was the devoted daughter of Ingeborg (née Diehl) and the late John Glynn. Jane was the beloved wife of Herbert, with whom she shared 43 years of happiness and partnership, and a dedicated, caring mom to Christine and her fiancé Matthew Tester. As the irreplaceable older (and wiser) sister to Patricia, Virginia, and Aileen (and her husband Todd), and a cherished aunt to Caitlin, Daniela, Vincent, Annalise, and Christopher, Jane seized every opportunity to celebrate her family and bring everyone together, never missing a birthday or important milestone.
She graduated from Felician University in 1982 with an AAS in Nursing, then continued her education at Saint Peter’s University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2009. A natural caretaker with a selflessness that was truly unmatched, Jane’s nurturing spirit extended to all aspects of her life. She cared for countless patients throughout her career, which included 23 years in Holy Name Medical Center’s Emergency Department, where she is remembered fondly by those who worked with her, as well as those who continue to learn of her legacy. After Holy Name, Jane spent several years as Director of Nursing at Hudson County Corrections. She was also an active member of her community, a valued member of the Ridgefield Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and a faithful parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church.
A huge animal lover, Jane adored her many pets, especially her two Great Pyrenees, Aries and Olivia. She enjoyed spending summers at the beach, and baking way too many desserts (like her famous cheesecake) during the holidays. A family woman at heart, she found the greatest joy in her role as a mother and wife. Her relentless optimism and hopefulness were unbreakable, and she faced even the greatest of life’s challenges with a smile on her face. Jane’s unwavering strength and unconditional devotion to her loved ones will be remembered by all.
A Visitation in Jane’s honor will be held on Monday, October 28th, beginning at 4 PM and concluding at 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow on Tuesday, October 29th at 10 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church. Cremation Private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jane’s memory to the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org), Save the Animals Rescue Team II (135 Cedar Lane. Englewood, NJ 07631), or the National Great Pyrenees Rescue (nationalpyr.org).
