Obituary of Josephine Noto
Josephine Noto (nee Ruta), age 92, long time resident of Westwood and previously Little Ferry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
Born Sept 15 1932 to parents Nunzio Ruta of Palermo, Italy and Emma Ruta (nee Mazza) of Hackensack. She is predeceased by her parents and beloved husband Charles Noto. She is survived by her children, Diane Noto of Ramsey, and Maria Kubat of South Hackensack, her grandchildren Daniel Kubat and wife Gina of Hillsdale, and Kristin Busico and husband Derek of Ridgefield Park, Great Grandchildren Jacob Kubat and Hannah Kubat, as well as her sister Salvatrice Herbert and brother Vincent (Jim) Ruta along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Josephine was a long-time employee of Reed Lane in Hackensack and Wayne, before retiring in 2009. She was also a dedicated parishioner of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Westwood, and previously St. Margarets of Cortona in Little Ferry where she served for many years on the Rosary Society. Josephine was an avid bowler for most of her life, she also enjoyed volunteering and working with children in her retirement. But her greatest joy in life, along with her faith, was being a grandmother and “Big Grandma” to her great-grandchildren.
A visitation in Josephine’s honor will be held on Monday, October 7th from 4pm to 8pm at Vorhees-Ingwersen Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass at St. Margaret's of Cortona Roman Catholic Church, Tuesday, Oct 8th, at 10 A.M. Josephine will be laid to rest alongside her husband at St Joseph Cemetery in Hackensack.
