Obituary of Christopher J Heck
Christopher J. Heck, 57, of Bogota (formerly of Ridgefield Park), passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 12, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 31 years to Karen (nee Feehan) Heck. His greatest joy in life were his cherished children Robert, Michael, and Madison. He was the brother of Robert and the late Barbara Heck.
Christopher was born in Hackensack, NJ to the late Rose (nee Carlomagno) and the late Robert A. Heck. Christopher’s legacy was that of a family man, whether it was planning family Disney trips in detail, watching his children perform in sports/on stage or impromptu karaoke sessions blasting music in his car. He enjoyed spending his summers with his family in L.B.I., and relaxing on the beach, getting lost in books. Christopher was a proud member of the Elks Lodge #1506 participating in many charity events especially the annual Hoop Shoot and was a competitive member of the Elks Lodge Darts League. He was a true devotee of sports and was a dedicated baseball coach for both Bogota & Little Ferry teams for many years. Christopher’s proudest accomplishment was being a part of the 8-time champion softball team from Ridgefield Park known as the Budmen, where he religiously played for 27 years. His role as husband and father is lovingly emphasized, sharing qualities of unconditional love, strength, and generosity that extends beyond his immediate family to encompass a wide network of friends. His vibrancy for life will leave precious memories for all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life in Christopher’s honor will be held on Saturday, September 21st beginning at 2 P.M. and concluding at 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers those wishing to honor Christopher’s memory may make a donation to the Teterboro Animal Shelter sharing his love for his adopted shelter dogs, Magic, Tank and Kobe. shelter@co.bergen.nj.us
