Obituary of Jerry Di Meglio
Jerry Di Meglio, 91, a lifelong resident of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Goldie (nee Storer). Jerry’s loving spirit is carried by their children, Marie and her husband James, Charlie and his wife Patty, LeeAnn and her husband Philip, Paula and her wife Terra, and AmyJo and her wife Jen. His pride and joy were his cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Nicole, Anthony, Christopher, Samantha, and Jason and great granddaughter Kennedy.
Jerry was born on February 17, 1933 in New York, NY to the late Marie (nee Monti), and the late Stefano Di Meglio. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served for 4 years before marrying the love of his life Goldie in 1958. The couple settled in Ridgefield Park to raise their growing family. Jerry was a determined entrepreneur and successfully owned and operated his own professional floor cleaning and waxing company servicing local business for over 40 years. Upon his retirement Jerry became an active member of his community, and was a member of the Elks Club Lodge 1506, The Lions Club, and a devout parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church. His role as a father and grandfather affectionately emphasized unconditional love, strength, and generosity that extended beyond his immediate family to encompass a wide network of good friends and will be sadly missed.
Visitation in Jerry’s honor will be held on Sunday beginning at 2 P.M. and concluding at 6 P.M. Funeral Mass Monday, July 22nd, 9:30 AM, at St. Francis R.C. Church. Jerry will be laid to rest at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
