Obituary of Rosine Kaloukian
Rosine (née Mavelian) Kaloukian, age 89, of Wayne, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Rosine was the beloved wife of the late Yessayi Kaloukian, to whom she was married for 52 years. She was a devoted mother to Seta Kaloukian, Ani Silvani and her husband Eric, and John Kaloukian and his wife Christine. Her cherished grandchildren, Joey, Megan Taylor, Nicholas John, Kylie Rosine Seta, Elizabeth Rose, Christopher Yessayi Scott, and Nico Eric John, were the greatest joys in her life. Rosine never missed an event involving her children or grandchildren, always cheering them on from the front row. Her family was her world, and not a day went by that she did not see them. Even after her children moved out, they stayed within three miles of her home.
Rosine was born in Aleppo, Syria to the late Azniv Kasabian and Nerces Mavelian. She was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Ohannes Mavelian, Joseph Madalian, Alice Minassian, and Araxie Boyadjian. Rosine was the go-to person for problem-solving and support, always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone in need. She was deeply loved by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom held her in the highest regard.
As a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, Rosine was strong, capable, and tireless, always striving to make life better for her family. She loved cooking and preparing big meals, sharing her time with family and friends. If Rosine cooked for you, there was no way you would leave hungry; in fact, you were likely to leave with enough food for several more meals.
Rosine had a deep faith in God and was committed to daily prayers for all of her loved ones and those in need. She was passionate about helping others and was an active member of the Armenian Relief Society, Eastern Region – Spitak Chapter and a devout parishioner of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church. Her kind heart and gentle smile will be missed by all who knew her.
A Funeral Service in Rosine’s honor will be held on Monday, July 15th at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Ridgefield, NJ. Visitation will begin at 11 A.M., with the funeral service immediately following at 12:30 P.M. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
