Obituary of Barbara Carolyn Kowalchuk

Barbara Carolyn Kowalchuk (nee Suchi), 89 of Ridgefield Park passed away on May 10, 2024 at the Allendale Senior Living. She was the only child of the late Gertrude and John Suchi. Barbara was the beloved wife to the late Dimitry Kowalchuk for 64 years.  Barbara was the adored mother of James and his wife Gayla, Brian and his wife Rosemarie and John and his wife Peggy. She was the cherished grandmother of Kristin, Christian, Melissa, Alyson, John Thomas, Natasha, Nicholas, John, Katherine, Maggie and Elizabeth. Great grandmother of 15.

Barbara graduated from Ridgefield Park High School in 1952, where she met the love of her life, Dimitry. After raising her family, Barbara bravely went back to school to become an LPN nurse, an accomplishment of which she was very proud.  In retirement Barbara and Dimi moved to Edgewater Fl. and traveled extensively.  She was an accomplished homemaker, knitter, gardener, cook and artist.  She loved her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Vorhees- Ingwersen Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16, beginning at 4 PM and concluding at 8 PM.  Funeral to be held Friday May 17 at Vorhees-Ingwersen Funeral Home at 10 AM
