Obituary of John T Welsek

Welsek, John T. age 82 a lifelong resident of Ridgefield Park passed away on Friday December 8, 2023.  He retired as a boiler mechanic from PSE&G where he worked of 30 years.  He was a Navy Veteran.  John was very active in the village he was known as the mayor of Arthur Street.  He coached Baseball, Basketball, Recreation Department Coach, Umpire and Referee.  He as a member to the Board of Elections, Volunteer Ridgefield Park Ambulance Corps, July 4th Committee.  John also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Paramus and at Holy Name Medical Center.  He had a love of animals and children’s rights and his love for the Washington Commanders.  Beloved husband of 60 years to Mary Jane (nee Le Fever).  Devoted father to Dawn De Palma and Jeffery Welsek.  Loving grandfather to Kaitlin De Palma, Nicole De Palma, Tyler Welsek, Samantha and great grandfather to Thomas Welsek.  Dear brother to the late Rudolph Welsek, William Welsek and Edna Atkinson.  The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday December 12th at 10am.  Interment Maple Grove Park Cemetery, Hackensack.  Visitation Monday 4-8pm.
