Obituary of Teresa Maggio

Teresa C. Maggio (nee Chiesa), 96, of Ridgefield Park, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 21, 2023.  Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Maggio.  She was the devoted mother of Joseph and his wife Nancy, and James and his wife Maria.  The greatest joy in her life were her cherished grandchildren Andrew and his wife Julianne, Stephen, Thomas, and Matthew.  She was the endeared sister of the late Rose Olson, Louis, and Patrick.  

Teresa as a U.S. citizen was born in Romaggi, Italy to Catherina (nee Chiesa) and Dominick Chiesa and moved to the United States at age 11. Teresa met the love of her life Joseph and married in 1954.  She worked for NJ Bell as a telephone operator for 47 years before retiring.  Teresa was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church.  Being a mother was everything to her and she selflessly provided unconditional love and support to her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24^th, beginning at 3 PM and concluding at 7 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, September 25^th at 9:30 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park.  Teresa will be laid to rest with her husband at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
