Obituary of Gerard Michael Torre

Gerard Michael Torre of 2 Bates Street, Danvers, Massachusetts formerly of Ridgefield Park passed away from Dementia on Saturday, September 16th, 10 days after his 65th Birthday, he was born on September 6th, 1958.  Gerard was the beloved son of the late Carmela(nee Martorana) and the late Roger Torre and stepson to the late Mary(nee Yaccarino) and beloved brother to Rosa Threewitt and her husband Phil, the late Theresa Pompilio(nee Torre) and her husband Andrew, brother Joseph Torre and his wife Cindy, Vincent Torre and his wife Dina, Mary Carter-Hunt(nee Torre) and her husband Jonathan, the late Assunta Torre, Roger Torre, Peter Torre and Frank Torre and 17 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews.

 

Gerard was beloved by all he came into contact with - he had an enduring smile that was engaging, He loved music, dancing and loved to play practical jokes and tell tall tales and when caught in the fib would laugh contagiously.  He was an employee of Burger King and Good Will where he did maintenance for many years and was well loved by the staff of each organization.  He loved to clean and would make sure to correct you if he thought you were not cleaning to his standards. He loved to travel and looked forward to vacations.  He was loved by his roommates Eric and Tiger and also the staff at his home and will be missed by the staff of the non-profit Triangle that managed his home.  

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21st beginning at 4 PM and concluding at 8 PM & Friday 9 AM following interment at Voorhees-Ingwersen Funeral home 59 Main Street, Ridgefield Park, NJ 07660.  Gerard will be laid to rest at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, N.J. on Friday, September 22nd at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Gerard’s name to Triangle-Inc of Malden MA, https://triangle-inc.org/ a non-profit that runs group homes and provides opportunities for persons with special needs.
