Obituary of Nicholas I Della Fave

Nicholas I Della Fave, 87, of Wanaque (formerly of Ridgefield Park), passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 21, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores L. (nee Varni) Della Fave.  He was the devoted father of Denise Martino and her husband Dale, Linda Hupfer and her husband Gary, Sandy Furst and her husband Jim, Steven Della Fave and his wife Robin, and Paul Della Fave and his wife Geri.  The greatest joy in his life were his cherished ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was the endeared brother of Esther O’Connor and the late Joseph Della Fave. 

Nicholas was born in Hoboken, NJ to the late Congetta (nee Finizo) and Albert Della Fave.  After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy.  He worked as a Food Processor for General Foods in Hoboken for many years before retiring.  Nicholas was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing many rounds at various courses, and was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church.  Nicholas loved spending time in the Kitchen cooking meals for family and friends, and relaxing outdoors gardening.  Being a kind and dependable father and husband was of the utmost importance to him.  He was hardworking and compassionate towards everyone and will be sadly missed by all who knew him

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26th beginning at 4 PM and concluding at 8 PM.  Funeral Mass Thursday, July 27th, 11 AM, St. Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park.  Nicholas will be will entombed with late wife at Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington.
