Obituary of Clarence "Eddie" Briggs

Clarence Briggs “Eddie,” 90, of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 26, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Joan (nee Price) Briggs.  Clarence was the devoted father of Sharon Sabino, Diane Hosmer and her husband Scott, Linda Takach and her husband Andy, Lori MacNeill and her fiancé Michael Price, and Doreen Binetti and her husband Vinny. The greatest joy in his life were his cherished grandchildren- Aubriana and Paul Sabino, Derek and Abby MacNeill, Ryan, Melissa, and the late Kyle Hosmer, Victoria and Elizabeth Binetti, and Mikey Price.  He is also survived by a dear sister, Ruth Monroe.

Clarence was born in Cadillac, Michigan to the late Louisa (nee Hall) and the late Clarence Briggs.  He was a Teamster for local 560 at Marcal in Elmwood Park for over 30 years.  Clarence was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He enjoyed going to his lake house and spending his afternoons fishing. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 beginning at 3 PM and concluding at 7 PM.  Funeral Service will be officiated by Rev. Deric Taylor from Our Savior Lutheran Church on Friday at 10am. Clarence will be interred at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus on Friday, June 2, 2023.
