Obituary of Maureen Santos

Santos, Maureen (nee Higgins) age 76, of Montvale, formerly of Ridgefield Park, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.  She was well known and highly regarded in her profession as a Registered Nurse all over Bergen County for over 40 years and was still working for Care One in Bergen County until December of 2022.  She was a member of the Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge 1506 and a parishioner of St. Francis RC Church, Ridgefield Park. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore.  Devoted mother to Melinda Kelly and her husband Thomas, Jason and Matthew Santos.  Loving grandmother to Ava, Salvatore, Lily, Bobbi, Andrew, Jase and Ryan.  Dear sister to the late Theresa Browne, Jacqueline Cronin, Florence Cella, Ellen Castaldi, Richard Higgins, Thomas Higgins, James Higgins, Patrick Higgins and John Higgins.  Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews who she adored.  Nothing made her happier than being with those that she loved.  She was incredibly proud of her entire family, her Irish heritage, her New York City and Hudson County roots and her fierce loyalty to those she loved.  Those who knew her, adored her.  Those who were lucky enough to be around her were sure to have a lot of laughs and a ton of fun.  She is now reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Sal Santos, her mother, sisters and brothers who she missed dearly.  We know she’s dancing with her husband in Heaven once again and smiling down with him on her children and  grandchildren.  Visitation on Friday, February 3rd from 4-8pm and the funeral service will be held 10am on Saturday, February 4th at Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
