Obituary of Edward Franke

Edward Franke, longtime resident of Ridgefield Park, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the age of 78, surrounded by his family.  Born in Hoboken and raised in Weehawken, NJ.  Edward owned and operated Model Hardware in Union City for 47 years and later in his life, he worked at Home Depot.  Member of the Elks Lodge 1506, Knights of Columbus, Shade Tree Commission, and parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, all of Ridgefield Park. Devoted husband of 53 years to Ellen (nee Lamont). Beloved father of Karen Criscuolo and her husband Chris, Arlene Geosits and her husband Robert, Eddie Franke and his wife Lisa, Herb Ryan Franke, Diane Alonso and her husband Luis and the late Mary Ellen. Cherished grandfather to Christopher, Alexis, Olivia, Zack and Jake.  Dearest brother to Herbert Franke and his wife Peggy. Edward leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, family and loved ones.  Ed was kind, loving and caring and will be forever missed.  Services will be private.
