Obituary of Edward Adam Yotka
Edward Adam "Sonny" Yotka, lifelong resident of Ridgefield Park, passed away on July 2, 2021, surrounded by his closet friends at the age of 91. Dear brother to the late Joseph, Mike, Walter, Frank and Louise Caddo. Sonny is survived by his Godchildren, Beth and Scott, his lifelong friend Bob Carlson and many nieces and nephews. Sonny was a transportation engineer for North Eastern Container, a member of the Teamsters Local 560, and worked many years at the RP Recycling Center. He was a charter member of the Ridgefield Park Heavy Rescue Squad (1951) and served 70 years. Sonny enjoyed and participated in a variety of activities. Sonny sponsored his own all-female bowling team, Sonny's Bunnies. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and he established his own golf tournament, the SYO (Sonny Yotka Open) for many years. Good natured at heart, Sonny was especially devoted to the Carlson family, as well as his community, friends and family.
Sonny now lives on in our memories and stories that are sure to put a smile on your face. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him Funeral from Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home on Wednesday 9:30 am. The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis RC Church, Ridgefield Park at 10 am. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hackensack. Visitation Tuesday 4-8pm. If desired donations may be made to: Valley Hospice 15 Essex Rd.
