Obituary of Joan A. Jouas
Jouas, Joan A. (nee Brenneisen) of Ridgefield Park passed away suddenly January 11, 2021 at the age of 85. Our lives are forever changed. Joan was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Joan was born on September 8, 1935, daughter of Sarah O’Hare, Frank Brenneisen, and stepfather Martin O’Hare.
Joan may have been a tiny woman in stature, but she had the largest and most loving personality. If she loved you, everyone in the world knew it. She was an avid collector of Department 56 villages and lover of all things butter. She was well-known for her sharp wit and strong beliefs. If she had something to say, she had no problem telling you so. But for as loud as her opinions were made, her heart was the biggest part of her overall. If there was someone in need, she was the first to take charge and take care of them, no matter the issue.
Beloved wife of the late Leslie R. Jouas. Beloved mother of Leslie Ann Swanson, Joan Marie Murphy, and Suzanne Marie Riccardi. Loving grandmother to Jessica, Robert, Patrick, Jennifer and Stacie. Dear sister to Patricia Dwyer and Morton O’Hare. Predeceased by her siblings Doris MacDonald, Frank Brenneisen and Lois Menzel.
Funeral Friday 9am from Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be offered 9:30AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park. Interment will follow at Crest Haven Cemetery, Clifton. Visitation Thursday 3-7pm.
