Obituary of Leatrice K. Brown

Please share a memory of Leatrice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Leatrice Brown was born on June 23, 1962 at Harlem Hospital to Benjamin and Madge Brown.

She leaves behind older brother, Benjamin Brown Jr.; two older sisters, Arlene Brown and Janene Brown; and twin sister, Lileath Brown. Her sister-in-law, LaSue Brown; niece, Wanda Jefferson and nephew, Xavier Fair. Her best friend for over 45 years, Lynsley Grady and two god-daughters, Taquana Wallace and Sana Colter. Her first cousins, Marilyn Johnson, Vernelle Garnett, Genever Stewart; and a host of family and friends.

Leatrice attended elementary schools, P.S. 190, P.S. 200, and P.S. 90; Robert Wagner Junior High and graduated from Norman Thomas High School. She attended Hunter College.

For over 20 years, Leatrice served as an Executive Assistant for various companies including JP Morgan Chase and HSBC. It is without a doubt that Leatrice will be missed by her colleagues for her infectious smile and ability to include others.

Leatrice enjoyed life; the simplicity of hanging out with her sisters to catch a movie but possibly staying for 2 more or spending hours on the phone debating their favorite tv shows. The adventure of sneaking to a Prince concert to catch the 12am show.  The pleasure in finding a quality purse and beaming over the small details. Her love of shopping singlehandedly kept QVC in business; there wasn’t a deal that she didn’t like. Leatrice’s unique personality is only matched by her unique taste. She could go from listening to Luther Vandross to Sting and not miss a beat.

Leatrice leaves behind countless memories for family and friends to cherish.
