Obituary of Grace Krajcovic
Grace Annette Krajcovic (nee Campus) of Ridgefield Park, NJ passed away on June 26, 2020 at the age of 96 years. Grace was born in the Bronx, NY on March 6, 1924 to Marius V. Campus and Anna A. Campus. She has lived in Ridgefield Park, NJ since 1961.
Beloved wife of the late John Krajcovic (1999), devoted sister to Joan C. Confort of Watchung, NJ, sister-in-law to the late Carl Krajcovic and his wife Ernestine of Ogden, UT. She is survived by her dear niece, Dr. Grace O. O'Brien, her husband Edmond O'Brien and her grand-nephews Michael and Christopher O'Brien of Ogden, UT.
She was a cum laude graduate of Hunter College in NYC in 1946. She was elected to Hunter's Hall of Fame and honored with the distinguished service award for her service to the alumnae association. She later became president of the Northern NJ chapter of the alumnae association. In addition, she served as a member of the board of directors of the Hunter College scholarship and welfare fund.
She also served for many years as a volunteer NYC tour guide for the YMCA Sloane House Residence on 34th St. in NYC. Her main task was to bring out-of-town visitors to the Statue of Liberty, the downtown financial area and City Hall.
Grace was employed for more than 40 years as a manager for the Maxter Metals Corporation, an import/export firm in NYC.
She was treasurer of the Rosary Society of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Ridgefield Park. She was a member of the Ridgefield Park Senior Citizens group. She also served as secretary of the Twin Brooks Kennel Club for 10 years.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 30th at 11am at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hackensack, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the pantry of St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 Mount Vernon Street, Ridgefield Park, NJ.
