I’ ve known “hood” for more than 30 years.I always remember him wearing a Henley shirt - not the same one” But it had to be a Henley. Always the nicest friendliest person I always wished he was my back up man. Best to the family and especially Karen. He will be missed.

When I think of Hood I think of him at the side of the stage singing along to all the Jukes classics, with a huge smile on his face when he saw you singing along too. He was always so nice to everyone and would make a point of acknowledging you were there if he saw you in the audience. What a lovely man, he will be a huge miss to everyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his friends and family. Thanks for the music Hood.

Karen - so sorry for your loss. Our condolences on the loss of Hood, a legendary figure in the Jukes community. My fondest memory was talking with him about music, the Jukes and Juke memorabilia at the Jukestock gathering in 2001. He had his immense collection of posters and more, I had some info about my collection of 45’s and more. I think I had one he did not have but he gave me one I did not have. Of course the other memory is Hood being the target (like so many of us) of Bandiera jokes. He will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace Hood ~ Marty Venturo & family

Always fun to see Hood at a Jukes show. We loved when he played piano on Broke Down Piece of Man. Also a hard worker so all went well and the fans enjoyed the show.

Walking into the Relic Rack Record Store in 1968-69 was a pivotal moment in my life - I met Hood. Slowly and steadily we bonded over our love of music and record collecting. We began hanging out, visiting record stores searching for the latest in underground music or good old rock, blues, and country. As our record collections grew, so did our friendship. Going to clubs and theatres to working shows was a natural step - getting paid to see music (who knew!). From the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ to events and venues, large and small, thru it all we would talk about records, music, and the New York Yankees. We are left deeply saddened but richer for having Andrew in our lives. May you be at rest in eternal peace. Adios, my friend.

Dear Hood. We spent many a time at the Capitol, the Casino, Roosevelt Stadium and Convention Hall. Eventually we both went our different paths on the Road. You with Southside and my with Bruce. It was a good life and we have experienced things many people have dreamed of. I will miss you my rock and roll brother. God's Blessings to you and your family

Hood was an amazing unique human being with a heart of gold. He would do anything for you and certainly helped me in every way that he could always and never asked for anything in return. We had a wonderful sense of humor and we shared many Great times on the road here in the United States and in Europe working, Joking and laughing. He was a tremendous supporter of everything I was doing musically as well as my cancer benefit and he showed up and worked Every show and never ask for a penny ever he just wanted to help. He was the main stay the constant in the Asbury Jukes. He was extremely knowledgeable about music and had interesting and sometimes controversial thoughts about the various styles and genres, which he loved to throw out there just to see who would respond and then he would just smile and chuckle. He didn’t like vegetables much but he loves tomatoes and he loved my homegrown tomatoes and I was always happy to give him tomatoes and pickles one of the few things I could do in return for all that he did for me. He was always honest with a high level of integrity which is why everyone trusted him with their money including me. I knew when he was working the door or in charge of collecting any money it would be done right and it would be exact. Hood was a legend and I am honored to have the great pleasure to meet, travel, work, hang, laugh & Share time with him. He will be sorely missed. RIP my friend. Glenn Alexander
