Theresa Veronica (nee Ward) Barbetta peacefully left her loved ones on March 30th. Born on May 2, 1919, she and her husband, Joseph Barbetta, raised 5 children during their 48 year marriage, in the village of Ridgefield Park, NJ - where she happily resided for 56 years. Terry lived a long life full of happy memories. She enjoyed taking cruises with her husband, car trips (not as the driver), the annual 4th of July celebration in Ridgefield Park (which always ended with a bar-be-que at the family home and a perfect view of the town's fireworks), cats, gardening and laughing. Most of her stories would begin with "I had to laugh" and ended with her delightful laugh. In addition to being a wife and mother to her family, she also worked as a cashier in the Ridgefield Park High School cafeteria for more than 15 years, was a member of the Mother’s Guild, Ridgefield Park Seniors, volunteer at Holy Name Hospital and was a parishoner of Saint Francis Roman Catholic Church. Terry is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph, her parents, brothers and sisters, her son in law, Thomas Miller, daughter in law, Kathleen Barbetta, and her son Joseph's partner, Liza Connolly. Terry is survived by her 5 children: Michael Barbetta, Paul Barbetta and his wife, Mary Lou, Joseph Barbetta, John Barbetta and his wife, Jean, and Teresa Barbetta Miller, as well as her granddaughters, Kristin Barbetta, Stacey Bruce and her husband Eric, Kathryn Barbetta, Theresa Barbetta and Becky Graziano. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eight Avenue, 7th floor, New York NY, 10001. Funeral from Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home, 59 Main Street, Ridgefield Park Monday, April 4, 2016 10am. Mass at Saint Francis RC Church 11am.
