Sami Naim Chammas, of Weehawken, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the age of 69 years. He was born in Beirut, Lebanon and came to the United States in 1981 settling in Danbury, CT. Sami moved to Manhattan, Saddle Brook and Fairfield before residing in Weehawken since 2004. He had a love of swimming at the pool or ocean and would joke often with his family and friends. His love of work and desire to start new businesses lead him to a successful career as an entrepreneur. He owned and operated S & J Liquor & Deli in Weehawken for 18 years. Beloved husband of Sabah (nee Madkour) Chammas for 39 years. Devoted father of Sarah Lucero and her husband Luis, Sandra Regan and her husband Jason, and Steven Chammas. Cherished grandfather of Azzat Sami Lucero, Noah Luis Lucero, Zayn Regan, Mazin Regan, and Sasha Chammas. Dearest brother of Elie Chammas, Fouad Chammas, and Samia Chammas Ibrahim. The Funeral Mass 11 AM on Friday, February 8th at St. Francis R.C. Church, 114 Mt. Vernon Street, Ridgefield Park. Visitation on Thursday from 7 – 9 PM. Cremation is private.
