The picture used today was taken on JUNE 4, 2016 IN Washington DC by the Korean Monument. It was by far one of the happiest days of his life. He finally felt that he was honored for his service, pain and suffering, Finally acknowledged by the people he served....Americans. The man running the program did a mail call to simulate mail call when he was in Korea, he received beautiful notes from children that didn't know him. The notes were in crayon and they said thank you for your service. That touched him. The next letter he read was from his daughter. She wanted him to know how proud she was of him and that she loved him. He was so emotional that he couldn't read it so I read it to him. I read the letter, trying to hold back my tears when I noticed he was also crying with joy and pride that his daughter, Marlene was proud of him.
I loved Michael like family and I will miss him so much. He meant a great deal to me and I feel a little lost without him. I know he is at peace with his family. To Marlene: You are like a sister to me and I just want you to know that I will always be here for you, no matter what! I love you so much. My sincere condolences to all of Michael's family..
