John Daniel Menzel Jr., of Milford, Delaware, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 at the age of 71 years. John was born in Weehawken, New Jersey to the late Arlene Stever Menzel and John Daniel Menzel Sr. and lived in Little Ferry for many years before moving to Delaware. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Prior to retiring John was Superintendent of Construction for United Water and Suez in Hackensack. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Rohlfs) Menzel for over 49 years. Devoted father of Dawn Menzel Knaggs, Melissa Moreira and her husband Ruben, and Kristopher Menzel and his wife Cynthia. Cherished grandfather of Darrin, Kyle, Nathaniel, Mia, Emma, Ava, and Kayla. Loving brother of Lynn Kaye and Janice and John Pergolizzi. John is also survived by Aunt Tootsie and brother and sister-in-law Steven and Susan Rohlfs. The funeral service will be held 11AM at Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home on Friday, December 2nd. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4PM to 8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
