Obituary of Heather Schlemm
The world grew a little dimmer on Friday, March 28, 2025, as Heather Schlemm, of Little Ferry, a woman of immeasurable strength and boundless love, took her final breath after a valiant battle with cancer. At just 36 years old, she left this world far too soon, but not before leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born to Judith (nee De Pascale) and Gary Schlemm, Heather was not only the light of their lives but a beacon of warmth, intelligence, and unwavering kindness to all who crossed her path. As an accomplished Attorney at Peter N. Davis & Associates in Lodi, she fought tirelessly for justice, using her sharp mind and compassionate heart to make the world a fairer place.
Heather was not content to merely exist-she lived. She wandered the world, her heart hungry for adventure, her eyes wide with wonder. She read voraciously, savoring the knowledge and stories that connected her to people and places beyond her own. She was a champion of the environment, a lover of all creatures, and an advocate for the voiceless. She found joy in the simple and the profound-scrapbooking her cherished memories, capturing the beauty of the world through her camera lens, losing herself in music, dancing with happiness, cooking meals filled with love, and most of all, cherishing her family and friends. Heather had a heart that burned brightly, warming everyone who stood in its glow. Her laugh was infectious, her soul electric, and her absence leaves an ache that words cannot heal. Though her life was far too short, Heather lived it boldly, beautifully, and without regret. She leaves behind a sea of family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones who will forever carry her memory forward, and inspired by the way she embraced life.
A Celebration of Heather’s life will be held on Saturday, April 5th, beginning at 9 A.M. and concluding at 11 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Margaret’s of Cortona R.C. Church, Little Ferry at 11:30 A.M.. In her honor, let us travel more, love deeper, dance wildly, and fight fearlessly for the things that matter. The world has lost a remarkable woman, but heaven has gained a warrior, a dreamer, and a soul to bright for this world to contain.
In place of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue, an organization close to Heather’s heart.
