Obituary of Kenneth A Schiess

Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kenneth A. Schiess, aged 62, a beloved father, brother, and cherished friend, departed this world on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.  His legacy of love and dedication will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.  Ken grew up in Leonia and graduated from Leonia High School in 1980. He had a tragic accident at age 19 that left him disabled. However, thru years of hard work and physical therapy, he was able to get married and moved to Ridgefield Park in 1988.  A devoted father to Brian and his wife Theresa, a caring brother to Robert and his wife Mary, Donald and his wife Tracey, and the late Dennis and his wife Janet, and an uncle and cousin to many, Kenneth’s presence was a guiding light bringing joy and cheer to many especially celebrating holidays with loved ones.  His 30 years of unwavering service as a Retail Associate for Macy’s were a testament to his commitment and hard work.  Kenneth’s dedication extended beyond his professional life.  A brief but proud member of the Carpenters Local #6 in Hudson County, he stood as a pillar of strength and solidarity for his community.  An ardent fan of the Chiefs and the Mets, Kenneth found joy in the thrill of the game.  His passion for life was also evident as a football player and wrestler at L.H.S., inspiring all who knew him with his spirit.  A faithful parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, and an active member of Friends of Bill, Kenneth’s life was a camaraderie.  Though he may no longer be with us in person, his memory will live on, a beacon of love, loyalty, and unwavering strength.

Visitation in Kenneth’s honor will be held on Sunday, March 9th, 2 P.M. to 6 P.M.  Funeral Mass Monday, March 10th, beginning at 10 A.M. at St. Francis R.C. Church.  Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks to please send donations to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/ or St. Francis R.C. Church
