Obituary of David P Montany

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David P. Montany on Friday, February 28, 2025.  Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Maxine (nee Beck) and Charles A. Montany Sr., David was a beloved resident of Little Ferry.  He served as a Custodian for the Little Ferry Public School System, where his dedication and care touched many lives.

David leaves behind his cherished siblings, Michael Montany and his wife Barbara, John Montany and his wife Lisa, sister-in-law, Maureen Montany, and predeceased by Charles Montany Jr., along with his adored nieces and nephews, Marie Campbell (Bill), Charles Montany III (Julie), Garry Montany (Jessica), Maxine Montany, and Sophia Montany, as well as many great nieces and nephews.

David’s vibrant spirit was mirrored in his passions; from the thrill of slasher horror films to the electrifying world of professional wrestling.  An aficionado of classic rock, he found solace in the melodies of Hot Tuna, and the joy in the tranquility of his fish tank and turtles.  His love for the outdoors was evident in his canoeing adventures and his appreciation for Harley Davidson culture, reflected in his collection of tee shirts.  David was preceded in death by his loyal companion Dutchess.  In honor of his memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Literacy Volunteers of America at LVAEP.org.  David’s legacy of love, adventure, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.

A Visitation in David’s honor will be held on Monday, March 3^rd, beginning at 5 P.M. and concluding at 9 P.M.  Interment will take place on Tuesday, March 4^th, 10 A.M. at Maple Grove Park Cemetery, Hackensack.
