Obituary of Joseph Raimondo
Joseph Raimondo, aged 84, of Moonachie, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Joseph embarked on his final ride, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, resilience, and a spirit that could never be tamed.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Catherine (nee Early) and the late Joseph Raimondo, Joseph’s passion for adventure and craftsmanship led him to create a life as bold and enduring as the machines he loved. A true master of his trade, he owned and operated Universal Cycle, a motorcycle shop that became more than a business. His passion extended far beyond bikes; he was an avid coin collector, finding history and value in the smallest of details, just as he did in life.
For 61 years, he was the devoted husband of Joyce (nee Guida) Raimondo, his rock and greatest love. Together, they built a family rooted in love and loyalty; raising their four children, Joan and her husband Paul, Kim and her husband Robert, Joseph and his wife Suzanne, and the late Lisa and her late husband Patrick, who carry his wit, wisdom, and unwavering strength. He was the proud grandfather of Michael, Angela, Jason, Samantha, Patrick, Elizabeth, Cassandra, Joey, and the late Brian, and many cherished great grandchildren, who will forever remember his humor and the way he made even the simplest moments extraordinary. He is also survived by an endeared brother Daniel, and predeceased by his siblings Margaret, Dominick, and Robert. Joseph’s laughter echoed through every room, a reminder that even life’s hardest moments, joy could always be found. His quick wit remained sharp to the very end, proving that humor, much like love never fades. His legacy is not just in the machines he built or the coins he collected, but in the laughter, love, and the indominable spirit he left behind.
A Funeral Mass in Joseph’s honor will be held on Friday, February 28th, beginning at 10 A.M at St. Margaret’s of Cortona R.C. Church, Little Ferry. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Township.
